QUESTION: "Dear Ian:
I suffer from premature ejaculation, and it's ruining my sex life. I'm embarrassed and humiliated and I dread having sex, especially since I'm in my 30s and everyone says it's a young man's problem. I see all these ads for drugs like Viagra and Levitra for erectile disorder, but is there any sort of pill I can take to deal with PE?
ANSWER: I can't tell you how many emails I get from
men about premature ejaculation, so you're definitely not
alone. Recent studies and surveys suggest that Premature Ejaculation,
also known as Rapid Ejaculation, affects far more many men
than does erectile disorder, and men of ALL ages, not just
young ones. The reason we don't hear more about PE is because
there aren't any commercials touting a blockbuster drug, but
a PE pill might soon be on the way. But before you look for
a pharmaceutical solution, you need to know more about the
condition, and other ways of dealing with it. Check out a
